Testimonials

At Collage we love House Ale. It’s consistent, reliable, and versatile. We’ve used it in everything from IPA and Pale Ales to even cold-fermented pseudo lagers. We have been extremely pleased with how clean the profile is, and how quickly it ferments at both warm and cool temps. Harvesting and repitching is easy. House Ale rules.
This is now our "house" ale strain. Super dependable and quick fermentations (3-4 days!). Drops clear, good attenuation and is very neutral. Great for almost any style where you just need a clean fermentation.
I have used this yeast since it came out at our little brewery. It works well under a variety of temperatures and styles of beer. We use it in our blonde west coast ales, our flagship Pale ale, Stout and recently won Gold with our imperial stout. Fermentations are repeatable and reliable … If we are repitching it has been great for up to 6 generations … It is a key part of the Hornby Island Brewing Company beers.
We were super stoked to have been given the opportunity to trial Lallemand’s LalBrew® House Ale yeast as a replacement to our current house ale strain! Our current house strain is very clean and predictable and produces very neutral esters and flavors. LalBrew® House Ale was promoted as an even cleaner and more efficient yeast and in practice it exceeded our expectations. We used it in our house pale ale Topanga. This batch fermented faster and produced a noticeably cleaner beer that really allowed our hops to shine. While analyzing LalBrew® House Ale we could not find any off flavors or differences visually from our typical house strain batch, only a brighter and more pronounced hop character. I would recommend LalBrew® House Ale to any brewer looking for a brighter, cleaner, workhorse yeast.
